Verdict is an AI image and video detector for iPhone that tells you whether a photo or video is real or AI-generated — in seconds, entirely on your device.
For a photo, Verdict scores three signals — a neural-network model, metadata inspection and sensor-noise analysis — weighted by how much each is actually worth. A fourth check, Error Level Analysis, is shown in the breakdown for reference but deliberately carries no weight, because it measures compression history rather than synthesis. For a video, Verdict samples 15 frames across the clip, runs the AI-detection model on each one, and takes the median. Either way you get a single 0–100 score with a plain-language verdict.

Verdict returns a probability, not a certainty. It is strongest on clearly synthetic imagery and on unmodified camera originals. Heavily processed phone photos — Night mode, Smart HDR, aggressive editing — and screenshots or re-compressed images carry less forensic signal, so borderline scores are more common there. That is why Verdict always shows the score and the evidence rather than a bare label.
Yes. Every check runs on device, so Verdict works in airplane mode. It has no backend, which is also why nothing you scan is ever transmitted or stored anywhere.
