Keep a daily streak for a scoring multiplier, with a rest day each week so one missed evening doesn't undo it. The higher ranks need voices you published that other people actually use. Cloning, conversion and playback all run on your iPhone's Neural Engine. Your recordings are never uploaded — not to clone, not to perform, not ever. The only thing that can leave your phone is a voice you deliberately choose to publish, and even then Mimic sends a mathematical voice print rather than any audio.
Yes. Mimic records a short voice sample — about 20 seconds of clean speech — and builds a voice avatar from it directly on the phone. Your recording is not uploaded, there is no account, and there is no waiting on a server to process it. You can then use that avatar to convert a recording or to perform live.

Mimic is built for exactly that. The speaker embedding, the voice conversion and the audio playback all run on-device using Core ML on Apple's Neural Engine, so cloning and performing work in airplane mode. Most voice cloning tools send your audio to a server; Mimic never does. Browsing the Community Library is the one part that needs a connection.
Yes — that is Performer Mode. With headphones or AirPods connected, you speak and hear yourself transformed roughly a second later, continuously. It also works through a Bluetooth speaker for performing to a room.
Mimic runs on any iPhone with iOS 18 or later. The six built-in voice effects — Robot, Helium, Demon, Underwater, Whisper and Echo — work on all of them, since they use classic audio processing rather than a machine-learning model. Voice cloning and the eight designer voices additionally need the Neural Engine on iPhone 15 Pro or newer, because those models have to run faster than speech arrives.
Mimic is a creative tool: voicing characters, narration and dubbing for your own videos, performing, and playing with voices with your kids. Clone your own voice freely, and anyone else's only with their clear permission. Using a cloned voice to impersonate someone without consent, to deceive, or to harass is against Mimic's terms and is likely illegal where you live. The app asks you to acknowledge this before you record a voice sample.
